Elizabeth is Associate Administrator of the Casey Eye Institute at OHSU, in Portland, Oregon, responsible for department compliance activities. Elizabeth has over 30 years healthcare experience, 20 in ophthalmology.

Target Group: This program is designed for ophthalmic billing/coding staff with more than two years of experience in billing/coding, ophthalmologists, and ophthalmic technicians.
Course Description: While the physician is ultimately responsible, each member of the ophthalmic team plays a vital part in coding and documentation. Topics for this four-hour course will assist the ophthalmic team in obtaining appropriate reimbursement.
Learning Objectives: Upon completion of this course, attendees should be able to:
1. Demonstrate proper application of the new 2009 ophthalmic CPT and ICD-9 codes.
2. Explain the difference between an office visit and consultation.
3. Demonstrate the proper coding for surgical complications.

Cancellations received on or before January 16, 2009, will receive a full refund. Refunds received between January 17, 2009, and January 21, 2009, will be refunded the attendance fee less an $85 processing fee per registration. However, no refunds will be made for cancellations received on or after January 22, 2009. No shows and late cancellations will be mailed the seminar materials and billed the full amount of the seminar. Substitutions may be made at any time.
